Well, I learned that you can never be too careful when sending out query letters.
No, I haven't sent out any more, because quite frankly I am not sure where to go yet. I sent the one to an agent here in town who represented my genre... then got the rejection in 24 hours (AWESOME! Well, not the rejection but the turnaround time was ;))... then promptly did nothing else.
Ha!
But while on twitter today @RachelleGardner noted that she had a query submission today she wanted to request a partial from and it DIDN'T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER!
What an imbecile, I thought. Don't even include your phone number on a query, what kind of professionalism is THAT?!
I would never do that... EVER.
*rubs chin* Did I...? Surely, I would never do that.
Humm, Maybe I should check, just... to make... sure.... Even though I would NEVER do that...
Auuugh!
303-7997-1234
What the heck kinda phone number is that?!?!
*smacks head*
This is just as bad... no wonder I was rejected.
Learned today: Value of proofreading even the odvious things like your name, phone number and address.
